You might consider ordering a replacement muffler/headpipe gasket from the dealer. Removing the stock gasket from the original muffler is a real bear. The cost when I ordered one was about $18, but well worth the hassle of trying to remove the original gasket which had made up its mind that it was quite happy where it was and had no intentions of leaving.
